How detailed are you guys on the customs form where you list whats in the package? I was very general and the guy at the post office said I needed to be more detailed.

It really depends on your post office. The last package, I sent deodorant and listed that. He seriously asked me stick or gel. And wrote gel next to deodorant. I also wrote shirt and he asked me what kind of shirt it was. He wrote men's t-shirt next to where I wrote shirt.

I always just say things like t-shirt, toothpaste, candy, magazines, etc. Cheap stuff that wouldn't have a chance of being stolen (not that I put anything fancy in his boxes, though I know people who have sent iPads and PSPs...I'd go crazy with worry!). I usually fill the form out at home since I ordered the supplies for free, and the postal workers at my office never really check, as long as it has the address part filled out they don't seem to care

I just wrote "snacks" and the post office guy wanted me to list everything. I just told him granola and candy...like that would fill up that box...

Yeah, sometimes they care and sometimes they don't. I've never had a post office worker tell me to be more specific. It's weird!

I work at a post office and people are usually pretty general about what they send. I just make sure they put the address down correctly. No ones ever told me that you have to be specific on the customs forms.
