    Check Pinterest.

I'd usually send food, a letter, some pictures, maybe a new movie, and a couple random dollar store toys.

I think thanksgiving was my favorite care package. I sent about 6 football movies, magazine, and every pumpkin related food on the shelf at trader joes! Plus some chai latte powder from tj's that Dh is now obsessed with... Turkey jerky, cranberry apple butter, homemade leaf cookies, pumpkin DD coffee, paper turkey for decoration, etc.

Just hit every holiday and some random holidays in between... (Like "talk like a pirate day," etc.) Or special days for him. DH quit smoking on April 15 many years ago, and treats himself to cold Stone ice cream on that day every year. He was deployed this year, so I sent him a card and astronaut ice cream (from rei), which he thought was the greatest thing ever.

Pinterest!!! There is some amazing ideas on there.
If he has a certain sports team he likes you could do one of those. My DB was there for His birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Newyears, Valentines Day, and St. Patricks Day so that made it simple.

Mine were always just random ideas i had. I would first think "gee I want to send DB flavor blasted gold fish" so I would go to CVS and get those then be like AND HE NEEDS ALL THIS TOO lol! So it would be a random assortment of candy/magazines/and little dollar store toys. I like sending him his favorite magazines, I sent him a pocket copy of the karma sutra , desktop games (i.e desk top mini ping pong), and movies. I guess I never really did theme ones, I would also ask him what he wanted or needed too. No points for creativity here but hey he liked them lol.

Oh, I found a set of sexy scratch-off coupons (like scratch off lottery tickets but with something sexy for you to do to your partner) and I sent one in each package as ideas of what we could do whe he got home.

Usually sold by consultants (there are a few on this site) but they have a website too.
