    Care Package Questionnnn

    Advertisements
So my Soldier is deployed and im trying to come up with ideas for care packages. Does anyone have any theme ideas for the packages? But the only question I have is what the restrictions are for the packages? Are there certain things that im not allowed to send to him? I just dont want to get him in any trouble by the things I send him.

I do cute things based off what he likes, like I sent him a finding nemo one, a you have the key to my heart one, and a Steelers themed one. I know he really likes certain stuff, so I send those. Nothing, flammable for example: lighters, cologne, and hand sanitzer. I can't think of anything else for sure... You can always check with your local post office or online. I usually just usually send food and cute little things to cheer him up, like a football waterbottle or card games stuff like that.

you can't send things like alcohol, porn, etc.

as for themes, i did it based on holidays, anniversaries or seasons. there was one i did that was "time is always ticking" since may didn't really have any significance for either of us.

I have a Christmas one planned and a birthday one planned for DB, but i havent thought much about details just yet.
I've heard some people sending ones for halloween, the only problem I see with this is sending chocolate and all that. I'd be way too afraid of it melting haha

    Care Package Ideas
This is a good link for ideas and suggestions.

    Also...

Toiletries (lotion, toothpaste, etc) are best shipped in ziplock bags. This will keep them from getting all over everything if they leak/bust.

Consider temperatures. It's probably not a good idea to send a huge box of chocolate during the summer months.

    Cushion breakables.

I only sent two care packages but I did them based on holidays, Valentine's day and Easter. I didn't go all out decorating the boxes or anything but I wrapped everything in themed tissue paper and they looked really cute! I sent themed candies and letters etc. Next time he deploys the packages will be more practical with toiletries etc but we had only just started dating then so it would've been weird. Plus his mom took care of that anyway.

Having a hard time adding pictures
I did a New Orleans Saint's football cp two weeks ago. My cp aren't very exciting as far as contents. DH and I are very practical people and thus I pack it full of snacks, toiletries and things he needs. This cp, I sent a large pillow because he needed it. He was sleeping on a thin crappy one. I bought a space-bag and it shipped nicely in a large priority box along with chips, nuts, energy drinks and gatorade powder.
