    Hungry Chocolate

    Advertisements
Ok, I'll admit it. I'm addicted to chocolate. That poses a problem with my deployment next year....

Has anyone figured out a way to send chocolate in care packages that I could pass on to my family?

    Thanks

Does it need to be in the form of a chocolate bar or can it be something else? Do you like Nutella? It's chocolate-y and since it comes in a jar, it should ship well. Or, you could always just eat a melted-then-resolidified candy bar, it will taste the same. :-)

I sent DH brownies once. It was funny because I mentioned them in the note in the box, but he didn't find them until like three days later because I had put them in a gluten free pizza crust box to protect them during shipping.......

Other than that, I would say it's really just dependent on the season

I put chocolate into doubled up ziploc baggies They never leaked out of the second bag.

Ooh Nutella might be the way to go. But m&ms could work too.

As of now, I'll mostly be in Africa, but that could still change.

    Thanks for the ideas

That's what I did for DH. We figured the chocolate would melt but it didn't taste any different. I just put the candy bar inside a ziploc bag. Sometimes I bought him the bigger bags of the "fun size" ones too, and that's kind of extra protection against leaking I guess, but the leaking was never an issue for us.
