Insurance?
I'm sure there have been threads on this before, but I'm too tired to search at the moment.
When sending boxes with high value ($100+), do you insure them? If not, have you ever had a problem with them getting there? [Aside from the huge box shipped to Afghanistan that we've been getting updates on.] I just bought K's big Christmas gift today, and will be sending it in a regular f/r box. It was expensive, and with everything else I'm shoving in there, I'm a little wary.

I think I've insured it twice. Once was when I had to send the rest of his clothes/boots he couldn't fit in his bags.. and i don't remember the other time.

I think I would if its really expensive to be safe, when I mailed DB his Iphone I made sure to insure it because you never know what could happen or even if it makes it there so its worth it

I have *heard* that the insurance is only good for while it is in possession of usps. Once they hand it over to be delivered an insurance sticker is basically a sign saying "hey steal me". I would suggest not insuring it (if this is true) and for future reference you can order stuff online and use APO Box Shipping - Get a US address to ship to your military APO FPO and they will ship it and your product will be insured through them if anything happens to it.
ETA I have used the website I suggested and it is legitimate. I used it when I bought dh a new battery for his laptop. |
