Care Packages going to Afghanistan - Care Packages

My DB is in deployed to Afghanistan right now. I sent him a package at the beginning of September and his mother sent him 2 and he only got mine and 1 of his mothers. His mother has since sent 2 more packages his grandmother 1 and i just sent another one. He isn't getting his mail which he said it could take a month to get to him. My first package got to him within a week and a half. DB says there is a lot of mail that is just sitting around that has been there for awhile. I am frustrated because there are things he needs and where he's at he can't buy anything. I know the mail system is slow over there and I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and if your SO is getting mail how long does it take to reach them?

i haven't sent anything - yet. DB is leaving in Jan/Feb, so I'd be curious to know what you find out!

It was taking my DH almost 2 months to get mail when I was still sending it

Its just something I had to get used to. My DH had no access to anything and I was sending him things he needed that he just became used to doing with out. Good Luck!

This. They definitely aint the USPS over there. It will eventually get to him,, just dont send anything expensive.

My db is out there and I've sent 4 care packages and his cousin sent him 1 as well and he got all of them. Im not sure how long it took to get the 1 his cousin sent but all of mine he got within a week. I haven't sent him anything in the last 3 wks because his home for r&r.

At the begining of October I sent out three packages within about 2 weeks. (The first was on a Monday and the last was the Sat of the following week.) They all got there the same day. Most of teh time my packages get there in 8-10 days, but there have been some here adn there that will take about 4 weeks. Also, keep in mind that with the holidays coming up, the times will probably be getting slower and slower until like mid-Jan. If it tells you anything, I'm sending his Christmas boxes by the end of this week!

My guy is in Iraq, but since hes out in a craphole fob, they have to wait for people to run to the main fob to bring mail back and since is such a hassle they only do that every two weeks, and he gets stuff alot slower, but he gets alot more all at once lmao

My fiance is located in Afghan also and it has taking my packages and mail at least a month to arrice. I just received a post card from him Friday and he sent it out in Sept postal date.lol I understand what you are going through..Take Care

DH is out there and the last package I sent him took a week to get there. Another time I tried sending him a letter, and it took almost 3 weeks to get there. I guess it just depends.
