Hawaii Post Office Education
So today I went to mail off two care packages to hubby. After the mail man got over the fact that I wrote "NO Explode Powder" on the customs form, he educated me that I was wasting money using ... flat rate boxes. For us ladies in Hawaii, mailing to our hubbies FPO addresses, flat rate boxes might not be the way to go. If the box is HEAVY then ya, but for a normal weight box you might be better off using a regular box or wrapping the flat rate box in brown paper.
Just wanted to pass that on. As your postal person next time you ship a package.

I wish I had known 8 packages ago! LOL. Glad I could help. Sometimes it pays to use flat rate though. I mailed him a bunch of premixed protein drinks and those boxes weighed a TON so that was a good flat rate pkg. I think it just depends on how heavy the box is.

Yeah.. we have a military support group in my town and they send care packages all the time. They send everything parcel post cuz it's way cheaper and not much time difference in getting there. You can actually send bigger boxes too
