A 3 Week Hold Up, Reallllly?

So my DB got his orders, however they are not "officially official" so he can't say when he's leaving all he can say is that he wont be eating Turkey Dinner in Germany. I asked him about how long it would take to get an address so I could make sure to send him a Turkey Box (my pumpkin themed cp) He said he'd have an address, but it could take 3 weeks for the box itself to get there because of re-routing stuff So 3 weeks I worry all my pumpkin baked goods wont make it

Plus it wouldn't get there probably till after Thanksgiving

I know I could use tupperware(sp?) and use bread to keep them moist but do you think pumpkin spice cookies, cake, and pumpkin donut holes would make it and not go bad in 3 weeks time? :cry

Oh also: when is the cut off date for sending packages so they will get there by Christmas????????????????? DB said November 11th... that cant be true?

It just depends.. Packages will start taking a lot longer with the holidays coming up. And it just depends where his base is and such. DH's were only taking a week, but he moved to a new base and the mail gets sent to his old one and then routed to his new one so it could take 3 weeks now minimum.

so you get an answer this morning -- yeah, a three week holdup could happen. I know something I sent didn't make it for almost two months once.

He gave me a typical answer this afternoon and said it could be 3 weeks from this date. But I told him I was worried about the packages, he said he would have a new address for me probably next week! So whenever he does finally leave officially I'll gather the stuff and send it as soon as possible. He still said it could take 3 weeks just depending on how long it takes for the APO mail to shift, which wont happen till he steps a foot in Iraq. So some answers YAY!!!
