Christmas ideas
Just thought I'd put this out there in case anyone else was interested...
I was trying to find a small, fake tree that I could send DB since he was going to be gone for Christmas and I found one! Michaels has fake trees, just like the big ones, that are only about 2' tall. They also have tiny ornaments that you can hang up and small, battery-operated strands of lights. Oh, and they even have stars and angels to put on the top and mini tree skirts! I figured since Christmas is a pretty big holiday and many of us will be separated from their SOs this season we could use this thread to start getting some ideas put together. What are you ladies planning for your SO's Christmas? |

In my dreams, his dreams come true

I will definately be sending one. Its me and DBs favorite holiday and I plan to go all out for it since we obviously can't be together. On top of the stocking Im currently cross-stitching for him I'm thinking of doing a 25 days of Christmas and sending him care packages full of presents to open each day until Christmas (some will obviously be smaller) as well as an ornament a day some of them will be handmade. Prolly using shrinky dinks paper

I'm going to send a few things for him (books, movies, etc.) and will fill the rest of the space with things he can share, like cookies and other little things. I might knit up some hats if they can use them, too. Haven't picked everything out yet.

I got his package put together this past weekend because things have been taking so long to get to him lately, and he'll probably be leaving his FOB just before Christmas. This way he can still have the tree up for a little while before he leaves. (I'f we're figuring the timeframe correct I also got a stocking, and some funny/stupid things to put inside of it. We did that last year when he was still home and I went to the dollar store and got a bunch of funny little things for in it. It made opening gifts a whole lot more fun.
![]() I also got that shiny garland stuff, and some Christmas CDs. Oh and I got Santa and Elf hats that I'll take pictures with and then send them to him so that he can take a pictures wearing them also.

LADIES...
This idea is so cute... I know it may be meant for that special kid in your life.. but, I like it for the deployed soldier at Christmas... Hallmark Card shops are carrying a recordable book... "Twas the Night Before Christmas"... and you record your voice reading the story for them to read along with. I want to get one for my grandson who lives in DC but, I'd send this to my deployed sailor... just because.

I saw really tiny trees at Target before in the dollar section.
Try looking there every so often. Very cute idea btw.
