Silly Question about Customs Form - Care Packages

Ok so I went to the PO today to mail off DB's care package and I filled out the customs form and she put it on the box. So is this form still on the box when they receive it? She made me list EVERYTHING that was in the box and I think that sucks because I want him to open it and be surprised not read it on the outside.

Yes, it stays on the box. I never list EVERYTHING on the box. I list vaguely like clothes $25, food $10, gifts, $100. They have never had a problem with it.

Well i wasn't going to list everything but she told me I HAD to, so I was disappointed. Hopefully he will not look at the form and just open it.

everytime i've gone its been different. the first and third packages i shipped were vague and i put country iraq, cuz thats where he is so it makes sense. the second time she made me list specific things and the third time the guy flipped and said its supposed to be a 'secret' that he's in iraq. they make those things impossible

i've also never had to list everything. Just like the general.

food how much was it worth
clothes how much it was worth.

I really does depend on the person. I've had them try to make me list everything and I still put vague descriptions.
OP, I'm sorry. Hopefully he will just open the package and not look. That's what we have to do here at Christmas. Whenever my family or dh's family send presents.

I never list everything thats in there either, most the time not even one item thats in the box gets listed! I always list Snacks - $10 Magazines -$10 Games- $15 but just make sure you have it all taped up before you get there and they never know whats in there! I always list the same things everytime I go.

Oh OP just tell him not to read the customs form when he gets his box, just tell him you want it to be a surprise!

I neve list EVERYTHING and put the country as USA because it is going to a US base/post,

I always tape it up before I go to and they never asked any questions about what was inside.
