Is it too early?
So the BF is leaving for his first deployment in Nov. He'll still be in the states for training, and then he'll jump in a plane and fly across the big pond.
I was wondering if it was too early to start thinking/planning for the first care package? I already have ideas, but I didn't know if I should wait until he's on the other side of the pond, or not.

I'm trying to plan things, but it's just so hard to figure out what to send him. He's such a pain to buy things for -- even candy. I've been asking him what he wants, and he just tells me "Whatever you want to send me"
![]() Thanks everyone

i just started to make a list of things he likes (when he is home) and i try to include some of those in each package. but my db is the same, he never really has any requests so i can really send anything i want haha ![]() plus, if you send him something he doesn't really like (although i'm sure he will still appreciate it) he'll def. share and you'll make some other guy's day

I don't think so. We pretty much broke it off last week but are still living together-yeah I know way way complicated. He is sitting in the recliner and I am on the counch MSOSing and shoping for care packages. He leaves soon for the states for training and then he will head over as well. I have decided I will support him through the deployment cause if I don't send anything he won't but long story short, I don't think it's too early to shop at all. I wouldn't send anything until he gets there but I think it's okay to shop.

Go ahead and get things and get your boxes ready so when he gets to his destination all you have to do is address them and send them out! and I also agree that you should look at some other threads there are a ton of ideas! I also get alot of ideas from this website, it gives a list of most requested items under Great Ideas for Care Packages! Also just gives alot of tips on sending packages!http://www.marriedtothearmy.com/army_care_packages.htm |

with how picky he is most of the time. But that has all seemed to fly out the window with this deployment. He's living in a tent city and doesn't have a whole lot of access too the necessities, so any snacks, fun things, etc. I send he loves, and if by chance he doesn't, other guys he's with do. So it gets eaten/used one way or the other.
