1st Decorated Care Package (IMGS) - Care Packages

Ok, here is my first fully decorated care package. I am not a crafty girl so it probably doesn't flow and is a little scattered with no rhyme or reason to where I placed things.

I took it with my webcam (yay I finally got a webcam!) so the quality is not the greatest. Its red. white and blue in theme. The top flaps are a light baby blue with a gold antique type wash over it, the inside walls are a pale red/white/blue stripe and the bottom is a red/white/blue star patter. I put little phrases that symbolize our love and strength as a couple for the last 18 years as well as Navy symbols to represent our journey with the military. Its very rough around the edges...the cuts were not always straight, some are misjudged and you can see a little bit of the box, there are some blank areas that could probably be filled in, some are not lined up right and the black letter look kinda tacky but I tried

. My next one is going to be a fall theme..I am so excited to start making it and hopefully it will look a little cleaner. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know! So..here ya go...

Thanks! Depite its flaws...it was so much fun to do...very theraputic. It looks so much better in person

. Now I just have to find something to put in it. Dh doesn't really eat sweets or junkfood, has all the essentials he needs...basically can get whatever he needs on base (until he goes out in the field). I have no idea what to put in the damn thing. What do you send when they have everything they need? The only thing i can come up with is beef jerkey and nuts...that's all he really eats snackwise. He is not into being goofy so silly games and such wouldn't be a good idea. Cards or Dominos maybe....travel poker....Maybe a writing kit that I could put together with paper, pens, envelopes & stamps? Mini digi camera? Hmmm....what is something that your guys who have been to the middle east really miss having? Anything? I am going to make some more brownies and cookies to send to him but I really want to fill up the box. Help me out ladies!

Thats exactly why I decorate!

and as for things to send, DH loves anything electronic. So I have sent him DVDs, Laptop, Camera, his PSP and I bought his some games. Most of them just miss the luxeries of home. I also bought him some hand held games at walmart (Sudoku and Guitar Hero). But mostly I think we send out Junk food, because the food over there sucks. I also buy his favorite magazine that comes out every 2 weeks.

What else you could send if he has all his hygiene stuff.

I forgot to say, your box looks Great! He wont mind the flaws he will

Thanks! I forgot about DVD and magazines! I could also send him the external hard drive he wanted. He's is not a game person and doesn't like to sit still for very long....so maybe a digi camera would be good cuz he's always saying he wishes I was there to see stuff. Thanks so much for the help!!
