care pack update thread, everyone give updates here!

during this whole deployment, the care pack forum has easily been one of my favorites... i've gotten awesome ideas, feedback, and had fun seeing what everyone else has been making and sending!

i know i haven't been on much lately, but one thing i keep thinking about is our guys' (and girls') reactions to care packs. after you sent it, did he get it? did he love it? did it make him laugh? did the cookies or cake or whatever make it okay... or did he say everything exploded?

link me to a care pack thread you've made and tell us what ended up happening!

i wanna know especially about some of the sappy boxes (did he get embarrassed?) and with all of the questions about "will ------ make it?" i want to know if it did or didn't! (soda, cake in a jar, chocolate, candy, etc.). HoneyBee, what happened to the muffins?

Oh, and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting ideas for care packages, too! It's so neat to see what others are doing!

i sent DB a birthday package. he got it a few days before our birthday and i gave him hell because he is older than me lol... i sent him 2 boxes of fiber plus bars, used a black marker to circle the "FIBER" on the box, and attached a note that said "because old people need their fiber" plus, he told me that he didn't really want anyone to go all out for his birthday. i told him he was SOL on that with me, especially since we have the same birthday. i decorated the box inside and out, so everyone knew.
the next few emails i got were . the first one was "ok smartass, i'll show you what this OLD MAN can do when i get home " lol the next one was a random thing talking about a nurse giving him extra jello if she didn't have to change his adult diaper that day, nap time, and a serious game of checkers in the park later that day. i thought i was going to fall out of my chair laughing.

I don't have a link to a thread but I made DH a calender on snapfish.com and on each month I put "# month's done" with a lot of pictures from home. On the last page which is September 2010, instead of putting a picture I put "YOU BETTER BE HOME BY NOW!" and he loved it! He said he crosses a day off every day

One thing I miss about Alex being across the country is sending him carepackages. I almost want to randomly find stuff to send him. It's just kinda pointless since I see him every other weekend.

I am never satisfied.

Football Care Package *IMG heavy*

It made it in a week and a half. He was moving around a lot so he had to wait for it to catch up with him. He absolutely loved it, though he said he was scared to get it Mainly because I told him this was my best CP yet and many of the ones before that had been crazy so he was worried when I told him that

All of the snacks were gone within a few days. The chips and the dip went over especially well. The dip jar didn't break at all and neither did the glass in the picture frame. The gatorade didn't explode and the box made it intact.

He had to leave the box and the cans of chili behind because they are moving around and he can only take what he can carry. And they didnt have a microwave in their huts. I don't mind though, someone else will enjoy them

All I can say is that it went over REALLY well and all of the guys didn't believe that I had painted the box My husband was like "Oh, so you think my wife just randomly has football team logo stencils that just happen to fit the flaps of every post office box??" And they were all like "Uh.....yeah that's a good point. She has too much time on her hands" Yes, yes I do

My First Shot at a Care package **IMG HEAVY**

DH got it and he LOVED IT! He was so surprised and thanked me for like 2 days. Then he had his roommate thank me. I thought it was too much but he said it would last him a couple days (he's a fat a**) lol....I will be back with another one I did for my BFF. She just got hers today.
