    Help HELP WITH ADDRESS

    Advertisements
My guy just sent me his address in Iraq on facebook and this is how it goes (he is Air Force)

Rank / First name Last name
    506 ESFS / Gator Mids
    Unit # .....
    APO AE

I have seen that you aren't supposed to put rank or you can. And is that back slash supposed to be there? I don't want to address this wrong. HELP? Does it look right? I haven't heard from him to ask. lol.

I always put rank last name, first name too. I probably won't change the way I do it because DH gets my packages just fine the way they are addressed, BUT... I looked it up on usps.com and these were the examples that were given.

    Examples:

    SSGT Kevin Taylor
    Unit 2050 Box 4190
    APO AP 96278-2050

    SGT Robert Smith
    PSC 802 Box 74
    APO AE 09499-0074

    Seaman Joseph Doe
    USCGC Hamilton
    FPO AP 96667-3931

    SGT Jane Doe
    CMR 1250
    APO AA 09045-1000

I'd go the way your SO said though just in case the way things are addressed are also command specific. You could also send two packages both addressed different ways and see which one he gets first. It'd kinda be interesting to see what would happen.

I never do 'last name, first name'
DB gave me the address with 'rank. first and last name'
so that's the way i send it.

just do it however he gave you the address. i'm sure it will get to him

Exactly. I really think some of the formatting is command specific. Do what works best for you

Including rank is ok. The way I always sent mine was last name, first name.

It's probably easier that way since they refer to each other by last name anyway? But the order probably doesn't matter.

Happily married to the sweetest man.

no more ticker he is home <3

I would send it the way he sent it to you.... However, I do put rank, last name, first name because thats the way DF sent it to me... maybe send him a letter/card as a test?
