    Would you send a carepackage?*UPDATED*#26

    Advertisements
If your SO was in Afghanistan or Iraq, and you had sent a letter to the address he gave you, but 10 days later he still didn't get it, would you send a care-package to that same address?

I've had my care-package ready to go for a month and i sent a 'test' letter to see if he had given me the right address but he has received nothing

This care package has like over $100 worth of stuff, i don't want to risk it, what would you do? send it on Monday and say screw it? or wait and wait ? and how long should i wait to see if he EVER gets that letter i sent 10 days ago?

    Thanks Ladies!

    YES.

Where DB's at (granted, it's in Afghanistan), it takes 12-22 days to get or send mail.

Also, when there are sandstorms, the choppers don't fly and the mail doesn't go out, so it takes longer.

10 days doesn't seem like a lot of time

I've sent things to Qatar and that took nearly 3 weeks to get there. And the mail system seems to be a bit more reliable to THERE than Ghanny.

I know 10 days doesn't seem like a lot. I'm used to sending things on the ship and that takes 5 weeks but I was under the 'false' impression that since he is in a country now, that the mail would run relatively quicker. I guess i was wrong.

I'm so scared to send it though and then he not get it. He's birthday package is also ready to go but he's birthday isn't until the 29th of august so i'm waiting to sent that. ARH!!!! I don't know what do to

From what I've heard, VERY FEW care packs get lost. Also, you can insure it, too.

    It'll be fine.

    YES.

letters take forever!!!!! the methods of getting letters to/from my DB's FOB is different than packages!! so letters take weeks and weeks coming and going... and packages have taken 8-16 days to get to him.

send it and send it now! he prolly needs the morale booster and its not doing you any good just sitting there!

When DH first went to Afghanistan they recommended we send the first test letter and then like three days later another. The first one got lost and the second one made it no problem.
