I usually sent my husband alot of candy goodies. And each package he would get a pack of hershey kisses (a kiss from me) And then I would send some microwavable foods like the chef boy r dee raviolis in a bowl etc. Magazines, books to read, a card from me, I recorded his favorite shows and would send him those etc
The size of the package doesn't usually really matter but sapce is usually limited on board for him to store stuff. And then of course the bigger the box, the more money you spend shipping it. I usually sent out a smaller box every 2 weeks Yes you have to write down what is in there on the customs form. I just usually put like candy 8packages, magazines 2 etc |

Make sure that the shaving cream and anything liquid is in ziplock bags. Powdered gatarade, beef jerky, easy mac, micro ravoli, foot powder, new shower shoes, towels, bounce sheets, travel size fabreeze spray, batteries, hard candies, chex mix, stamps, socks, crackers, stuff that he likes. I would tape his favorite shows and send them to him along with little notes taped to a box, wrap batteries in notes, make rice crispie treats and wrap in colored saran wrap. It's really the little things that make a deployment easier.

I'm actually working on this today. I'm not sending any soaps, razors or anything personal like that cause he took more than enough to last him at least for 4 months. So my package containe lots of candies, I'm sending the popcorn mini bags (he doesnt eat pop corn but I'm sure someone in the boat will
) I'm sending his favorites cereal in containers, wipes, chocolates (they are all sealed) ice tea, tuna, pringles, ritz bits, pictures, I'm going to record some clips from me, sunblock (cause we forgot to include that when he left) and whatever else can fit in the box
