Lost / Stolen Care Packages?

Do you ever have trouble with your care packages going missing? I've sent 4 to Afghanistan since August and none of them have arrived!!!!

the mail can take a while, plus if he is moving around or moved camps, it can take awhile to get to him. i hope he gets them soon.

I hope they get there but I think they've been poached - he's not moving and at least two have been en-route for 9 weeks now...

My Db is in afghanistan as well and the longest its taken my packages to get there was 6 weeks. I hope he gets them.... oh, and some places use the confirmation, so you could try that next time.

My DF is in Iraq. I just sent him his first care package the other day. I hope he gets it. Now I'm going to worry... there wasn't anything of any great value in it, but still, I was so excited when I sent it to him. I didn't realize that there was a way to track these packages. All I did was take it to the post office, fill out a customs form, and sent it out. I was told he'd have it in a week or so. Hopefully in time for Halloween because it has some cool Halloween stuff in it.

Hmm... I thought it took longer than a week to get to Iraq. But then again i haven't sent anything there. *shrug*

I thought so too, but that's what the post office told me... who knows... I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Oh I thought you couldnt insure stuff going to an APO?

you can insure any item you are mailing out.. why wouldn't you be able to insure it?? you can't do express or return receipt as in with a sig, to an APO because of how the mail is handled.. but you sure can insure..
