Well, I sent my guy a handheld game with batteries in it (20 questions!) and what I read online was that you were supposed to take the batteries out before you sent something, so it didn't accidentally turn on, but that you could send them. I DIDN'T take the batteries out, because you needed a tiny screwdriver to take them out and put them in, and I just wrapped it in bubble wrap and prayed that it didn't make sound on the way! Anyway, he got it and it was fine.

I sent my DH batteries in his last care package, he said they sell out very fast, and so does foot powder.

I think you could buy a package of batteries and keep the packaging in tact from the store and send them. How else do they get them from the manufacturer to the store. That's just my thinking. I could be wrong. I would send the package of batteries and then the lantern or whatever rather than putting them in or anything.
