    Bacon Question

    Advertisements
I am doing breakfast for dinner tonight.... do I have to make the whole package of bacon at once or can I use 1/2 and put the other half back in the fridge or freezer?

If I can put it back in the fridge, how long would it last?

I always use half, then put it in a zipper freezer bag for later. I mean a reasonable amount of time later, not too long. Like a few weeks at most.

I've put uncooked bacon in a ziploc bag and kept it in the fridge for about a week.

I always put it in a ziploc bag and keep it till its used. I mean it doesn't sit in there for month b/c, let's face it it's bacon and it's GONNA get eaten.... but usually like 1-2 weeks if it's kept in a zip loc baggy

Also depending on the use by date. If you're just barely opening it on the use by date, definitely put whatever you're not using in the freezer

If it has already been frozen, you cannot put it back in the freezer, but you can put it in the fridge. Use Tupperware and it will last a bit longer than ziplock bags
