    Shocked Easy Hash Brown Casserole

    Advertisements
1 bag frozen hash browns (i prefer the cubed kind)
1 can cream of chicken soup (some say cream of mushroom is good too)
8 oz sour cream (thats the small containers)
    1 med onion (chopped small)
    cheese (preferably chedder, shredded)
    pepper (to taste)
    garlic powder, bacon (optional)

    preheat oven to 350-400 degrees

    1. mix soup, sour cream, pepper and garlic powder (if desired)
    2. mix in onion, 1/4 to 1/2 cup cheese and then hash browns
    3. place in a baking pan (spray with pam to prevent sticking)
    4. bake aprox 45mins until bubbly, onions are soft and a bit brown on edges.
    5. top with a nice coat of cheese and bacon if desired.

I would totally put browned sausage in this!
I worship individuals for their highest possibilities as individuals, and I loathe humanity, for its failures to live up to these possibilities.

are the onions a prominent taste? DH hates onions but he doesn't mind too much if they are well cooked (like sauteed) and there are not a whole lot of them

This has been a staple holiday food in my house ever since i can remember... it's my most favorite comfort food.

And Raena you don't even have to put onions in it if you don't want to... it doesn't change the taste.... I'll make it for the next gtg if i don't come stay with you! If i do i'll make it then!

I do this with mine too. I leave out the onions because I despise them.
