Sausage Stuffed Biscuit with Gravy
Ok, I made these for breakfast this morning. It was really good, but HEA-VYYYYY. Those things are sitting in the bottom of my stomach like bricks. I think that if I made them again I'd go with a lighter dough, like crescent dough (or that wonderful Recipe Creations cresecnt dough that's not perforated), or maybe even phyllo dough. Another thing would be to crumble the sausage and sprinkle it in, rather than an entire patty. Check the link for a photo.

Sausage Stuffed Biscuit with Gravy Ingredients Butter-flavored nonstick cooking spray 1 pkg. Johnsonville® Italian All Natural Ground Sausage (mild variety) 2 1/4 cups baking mix 3/4 cup milk, plus more for brushing 6 Tbls. cheddar cheese, shredded 1 pkg. (2.64 oz.) country gravy mix 1 tsp. garlic powder 2 cups water Sausage Stuffed Biscuit with Gravy Directions Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Spray large 6-muffin tin with butter-flavored cooking spray. Form round sausage patties with Johnsonville Italian All Natural Ground Sausage. In a medium skillet, brown sausage patties on both sides. Remove from skillet and reserve drippings. In a medium bowl, stir together baking mix and milk to a soft dough consistency. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. With clean hands, flatten into disks. Line the bottom of each muffin cup with one dough disk. Place sausage patty on top of each disk and sprinkle with 1 Tbls. cheese. Top with another dough disk and press the edges together to seal. Repeat to make 6 stuffed biscuits. Brush tops of biscuits with milk and bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Meanwhile, over medium heat, add gravy mix and garlic powder to skillet with reserved drippings. Slowly whisk in water. Continue to stir until gravy thickens. Remove biscuits from the oven and cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm gravy over stuffed biscuits. Copyright © 2008 Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade www.semihomemade.com Yield: 6 servings.

Come on over. We've still got five or six left.
Smoked sausage? I think it might work, but I don't think smoked sausage would taste very good with sausage gravy. If I used smoked sausage inside the biscuits, I think I might have to saute up some peppers and onions to pile on top when it's served. Hmmmm, that sounds good too.

Of course, that's why you still fit into normal-sized clothes and I don't.
