1 and 1/3 c warm water
1/2 c oil
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
4 1/2 to 6 cups bread flour (depending on humidity/temperature of air)
2 and 1/2 tsp. yeast

Glaze: 1 beaten egg plus sesame seeds

Put through the dough cycle on the bread machine. Start with 4 1/2 cups flour, and if the dough is gooey add more. After about 20 minutes in the bread machine, it should be a very firm, not wet dough.

Separate into 3 or 5 strands and braid. If you're doing 5 strands, each strand should be about the length of a cookie sheet. After braiding, let rise 30 min. Glaze with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake 23-27 minutes at 350 degrees.

I have also done this bread with 2.5 cups bread flour and 2 cups whole wheat flour. Works just as well.
