beer bread - Bread

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons white sugar

In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and flour. Add beer and continue to mix, first using a wooden spoon, then your hands. Batter will be sticky. Pour into a greased loaf pan.

Bake at 350 F for 50 for 60 minutes. 10 minutes before the bread is done I like to rub a butter stick on the top then let it finish baking. The top will be crunchy, and the insides will be soft. Serve topped with butter or cheese spread.

this stuff. we get teh fiesta ranch dip mix. i have to be careful or we'll eat the whole loaf in one sitting!

Actually you can use any carbonated beverage to make it.
