Do you paint the walls in your rental/base housing?

Do you paint the walls of your temporary home? I'm getting sick of seeing white walls and I'd love to add a bit of color to my home. BUT, I just don't know if it's worth all the trouble of having to paint them back to white in another two years when we will leave here. What would you do?

I was planning to paint, but once we got here I was like nah, fuck it. Our walls in this house are a really weird bumpy texture so being a different color isn't going to make them better. If we had a nicer canvas I probably would have but what does it matter if our ugly walls are white or whatever other color? They're still gonna look like shit.

We never have. It's just not worth the effort, IMO. White walls don't bother me though. If they did I would probably paint as soon as we move in a house. I just look at is as more work for me to do when we PCS.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, but our current rental already has nicely painted walls. If I had to live in a white house though, I would definitely paint it as long as I was planning on living there multiple years.

DF is a contractor, though, so painting/re-painting is NBD for him.

ETA: Our whole house was pretty much "builder beige," so not awful but not wonderful either. We have only painted the kids' bedrooms and our bedroom.

I would consider an accent color.
But wouldn't want to paint the whole room, the exception would probably be the bedroom, but even then that's a lot of work in a temporary living situation.

I've spent my entire life in rented houses with white walls because my Mom didn't want to pain and repaint. When we moved into our second house here (our first one didn't allow you to even if you repainted afterwards), we painted an accent wall in our dining room, two in the living room, and we've got another bucket of paint for accent walls in the bedrooms. It's SO much nicer without all of the boring white everywhere!

No but more so because our renters wouldn't let us but I don't think I would put forth the effort! We just hung a lot of pictures and decorations to help wash out the white!

Thanks for the responses everyone. I really like the idea of an accent wall. Usually accent walls are painted in pretty bold colors right? What color goes well with chocolate colored sofas?
