    What would you do? *Updated*

    Update on Post 19.

So DH and I have yet to get ourselves a mower for our lawn (we've been borrowing one from our neighbors on the right hand side, but they just moved out last week and DH has been away on training for the past few weeks).

Well, I just looked out my window this morning and saw my other neighbor (to the left of us) finishing up mowing our entire front/side lawn. I thought it was ridiculously sweet and kind, especially considering I've never even met him.

Now my question is, what do I do to say thank you? I was going to bake him some cookies, but I'm not sure if that's stupid and old fashioned Do you think that would work or should I try to offer him money or something?

I think cookies is a great idea. It shows you care, and are thankful.

I wouldn't know how much to pay someone for mowing my lawn, other than what i'd pay a business to do it.

And I'd totally accept cookies as a thank you for mowing someone's lawn (well, that i did on my own without have been asked).

    Cookies!

Our neighbors did my lawn a few times while DH was deployed, and generally just helped me out. I had no idea what to do for them, so I just started returning favors, like taking garabe cans in and stuff. But now, their mower broke and they've been using ours, so it feels full circle of just helping each other when needed Cookies would have been a good idea though!

yeah, I have no idea what the going rate is for it. That and I don't know, if I did something just to be nice, I personally wouldn't want to be offered money for it, but rather something heartfelt or just a genuine thank you, kwim? But I wasn't sure if I've just got an old school way of thinking

Aww, that's awesome when you have neighbors like that.

Cookies/thank you note sounds like a really sweet gesture! I would feel all sorts of warm and special inside if my neighbour took the time to do that for me.

I would definitely bake some cookies with a thank you card. That was really sweet of him.

"Thank you so much. No matter what, nothing is possible without you behind the scenes bustin heads and takin names. Thank you again. Everything you have done for me means a lot and nothing has gone unnoticed. I love you so much and thank you for saying 'I do.'"
