    Change In Taste Buds

    Advertisements
I used to have such a sweet tooth. I would go nuts for gummi worms, sour patch kids, swedish fish, etc. Now, I have no desire for those sweets. All I crave now are salty, savory, and spicy foods. Chips? Yes. Crunchy Cheetos? Yes. Anything covered in soy sauce and sriracha sauce? Yes, yes and yes.

Have your taste buds changed drastically? What did you use to crave? What do you usually crave now?

I used to be a salty person. But now I'm sweet.

But I'm also pregnant, so I don't know that that counts right now.

They SAY that your tastes change every 7 years. I've noticed that this is true, for me. I used to love sweets, but now it's all spicy and salty for me lately.

I had never heard of that

I wonder if the reason mine have changed in the past few months because I will soon be 25 and usually when you hit your mid 20s, your body goes through metabolic changes. I wouldn't be surprised if those metabolic changes affect your taste buds and cravings that one has.

When I was little I used to love green olives, and I would eat them straight of the jar. Then when I got to about junior high, I started hating them ... now I like them again but I don't snack on them like I used to.

I feel like I kind of grew out of my sweet tooth, now my cravings are for really vinegar-y things, like buffalo wing flavored stuff, salads or pasta with lots of balsamic vinegar in them, etc.
