[So I am boiling eggs and they were all going to the bottom of the pan.. except ONE!! I have NEVER seen an egg float!!!
I cracked it open and there was nothing different about it. I was just like

sorry if you have seen a floating egg before but I have not.. LOL I thought it was odd and neat
So I took a picture of two eggs in glasses.. one being the floater and the other being a random egg out of the carton ]

It just means that it's an older egg. Fresh eggs don't have as much air in them, so they sink.
Where are we going and why are we in a handbasket?

It just means it is an older egg. As they age it dries inside and more air enters. As long as it is upright it is ok to eat. If it lays on it's side it can be more questionable.

If you want to see something really cool you should stick an egg in vinegar for a while, eventually the shell dissolves and just the skinlike part of the egg is left so you can see everything in the egg. You can even gently bounce it. Thank you Bill Nye for teaching me that and my dad for letting me try it when I was a kid!
