When you're talking to a guy you're friends with & he says, "My wife said..." or "My wife did..." ect. And then in your head you're like, "Dude... your wife is my best friend. You can say her name & I'll know who you're talking about."

I don't know why but it drives me insane.

"Thank you so much. No matter what, nothing is possible without you behind the scenes bustin heads and takin names. Thank you again. Everything you have done for me means a lot and nothing has gone unnoticed. I love you so much and thank you for saying 'I do.'"

I DO THIS ALL THE TIME. I know exactly what it stems from, though. DH and I got married and he deployed a few months later...I moved back to NJ. NOBODY that I worked with, lived near, etc. knew him or his name so I got very, very used to referring to him as "my husband". Now that we're here and my neighbors and friends all know him, I still do it!

I love that you brought this up, because I've been loling at myself over it for a while now

That doesn't really bother me... What DOES bother me is when I talk to DH's friends wives and refer to their husbands by their last names I feel so stupid, but it's how I know them!

Mike says "my wife" all the time, even to my family. Even when I'm sitting right next to him.

I'm guilty, even though some of the guys I work with have met DF they don't know him well so I refer to him as "My fiance" instead of Adam because I don't know if they'd know who Adam is

I always catch myself after I say it and laugh because of how ridiculous it must sound
