When you go grocery shopping..... POLL

    Advertisements
For those of ya'll that have ever used the commissary. Do ya'll actually do all your grocery shopping there?? I'm trying to decide if the commissary is going to be my store of choice, or if it's actually cheaper to go to Food Lion or Farm Fresh (the two stores I've seen here off base that are cheaper than Harris Teeter) there is also a Kroger. Where would you shop??

I'm not interested in going to all4 stores and only getting what they each have on sale. I kinda just want to pick one.

I do the majority of my shopping at the commy. I grab sale items from the other options in the area though.

The commissary here in Aberdeen is way cheaper than the other grocery stores so I shop there.

Dunno how it is at cherry point where we're moving to in April.

So, overall would you say the commissary is probably and usually the cheaper route?? I've only done grocery shopping once.... so I really don't know anything about the prices at stores, etc.

    I go to Publix.
I'd rather die than go to Walmart.

Anything I NEED from Walmart I just order online.

I will not go to walmart. And I'm dying inside right now. Publix was MY. STORE. back at home, and I didn't even grocery shop. I love that store more than words. But, we unfortunately don't have those here. I've HEARD that kroger is similar in pricing, but farm fresh is similar as far as "Oh we package fresh fruit, sushi, etc" for you.

In your case (seeing as how i would know ) I'd shop at kroger, their normal prices are like Farm Fresh( i hate farmfresh though), but their sales are amazing, so even if you spent $.50 more for one item, you might save $1 on something else.

I am the same way as you, i am way to lazy to follow sales around. Since it's just DH and I, i don't buy crazy amounts of shit anyway

Publix. The Mayport commissary is crap, NAS JAX is about 40 minutes away, and I hate Walmart. I am finding that Target is selling more and more expired food.
