    Where are your candy canes?

    Advertisements
So I'm staying with my MIL while DH is on deployment and she put her Christmas tree up a few days ago. This is the first Christmas I will spend with her.

She asked me to go to the store to get something last night and I previously heard her say that she needed candy canes so I just picked them up.
I came back and she opened the candy canes and put them in a fancy cup instead of on the tree.
I thought it was odd and asked her about it and she has never put them on the tree.

I was just wondering where do your candy canes go?

In an old Yankee Candle Jar on the table in the foyer. Really, they just go into my daughters purse and then her tummy, but I at least attempt to keep the jar filled!

I can't put them on the tree because they are the only thing that attracts the cat to the tree. He will knock them off and start eating them. Weird cat.

I've never put candy canes on my tree. Or in a cup. I actually don't think I have ever gone out and bought candy canes just to use for display at Christmas time.

    In my belly

I've never put them on a tree, or a cup. The only time I've bought them is to stick in hot chocolate, or just to eat.

hmm....that's really interesting. I really thought until this year that everyone hangs them on the tree.

It depends which set of decorations I am using. They don't match my blue and siler set, so I don't use them those years. I think we are going to use the red and gold set this year, not sure though.

I don't buy candy canes...should I happen to be given one, then I just eat it
Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough...
