    So I bought

A fish on Friday, just a simple Betta but I decided to name him after DB and he's become my deployment buddy, yeah I feel like a dork but it is what it is. So I figured between all the dogs and cats I have and my kids and new fish I should hopefully stay busy...My kids are totally making fun of me

When I was 12 I had a huge crush on Billy Ray Cyrus and named my beta fish after him, so I don't think it's weird at all to name him after DB! Hopefully he lasts until DB gets back, I didn't have much luck keeping Billy Ray alive for very long. ;p

My dd had her last betta for 3 years! Did you buy a new aquarium? I hate that they keep those poor fish in such a small bowl in the stores. What kind of life is that? My dd bought some fresh plants for her aquarium, got one that had a small pump for fresh water and a little figurine her fish could "hide" in when she wanted to sleep.

    Good for you!

Be careful you cover the top of the container with something... my cat ate my beta. But I don't think you're a dork! for new pets!

That is true.... we finally got a top that had a hole in it that wasn't big enough for the cat's paw to go through (for the new fish)... and taped it down with duck tape. Once she had a taste she decided she liked sushi. We come home to find her watching the fish, and cat hair would be on the duck tape. Poor fishies.

Finally together in Okinawa and ready to start some new adventures together!
