    Sweet tea...

    Advertisements
Why is it seemingly impossible to get sweet tea outside of the Southeastern US?

To me, it seems that once you go north of Virginia and west of Tennessee, you're SOL if you want decent sweet tea.

Even Arkansas (where DB lives), which is technically a Southern state can't manage it. The first time I went to see him and we went to dinner, I ordered sweet tea and the waitress looked at me like I was the biggest idiot.

Everywhere makes unsweet tea, so what is so hard about adding sugar while it is still hot?

    *Sigh*

    I'm random right now... sorry.

You can get it in OK...not that that helps you much. DH had the same problem. He loves sweet tea (hes from GA) and even when he did find it, it wasn't sweet enough.

Im so in love with you hunny. I know I have never felt this powerful of a love before, I have only thought it was possible for those rare lucky few. And now I think we have it. Or are we just now part of the lucky rare few? XOXO Love you hun. -DH 9/8/11

I just don't get it. It's not some weird, gross thing. You can find tea everywhere. I was in Boston in October and everyplace offered unsweet tea. I don't understand why they can't put sugar in it while it's warm.

I told DB my new career path was going to be to travel the rest of the world instructing all these poor people on the wonders of sweet tea & how to make it.

All Texas Roadhouse restaurants have it, and most McDonalds do, too. They even have it here in AZ.

Sweet tea is primarily a southern thing, so it doesn't make sense for places outside the south to make a batch of sweet iced tea and regular, when hardly anyone is going to order the sweet stuff. Sorry you're bummed, though.

I love me some sweet tea, and it does kinda seem like good sweet tea is harder to find in a few states like CA! Every restaurant I have been to the tea is not to my liking, but I like it supper sweet and not watered down.

My DH loves sweet tea too. So do I but it has to be just right or I wont drink it. And for some reason, its impossible for me to make tea to my standards. I try so hard. DH likes it but I dont. Anyone want to tell me how they make sweet tea?
