How much do you typically spend each year for presents for the winter holiday's?

I think after buying gifts for everyone, plus travel and food, we probably spend close to 1000 dollars.

Too much... atleast this year we'll have dh special pays from his deployment. But as far as a $ amount is concerned, I haven't really kept track. I try to do a lot of buying all year long so that it doesn't hit me like a ton of bricks, but it doesn't always work that way!

for immediate family the limit is 100 each person total (i usu. go over for my grandma though)

for extended family it's about 75. extended like cousins and inlaws

for people we are obligated for but don't like necessarily it's about 35

If we buy for the entire family, which we typically don't, $1000. If we just buy for our immediate family, about $500. The $500 isn't including teachers, mailman, and bus drivers.

I usually spend about a grand. Although I'm sure it will be more this year since now I have to buy for DF's family too.

Since DH isn't here and I'm not going home for the holidays, it will probably be about $150 per family (it's not usually very elaborate celebrations).

I'm hoping to have 0 dollars spent this year....still need to talk to my family to tell them i've turned into the Grinch and am dropping celebrating
