    Name Change After Marriage

    Advertisements
A newly engaged friend and I were talking about name changes after marriage and I never realized how many options there were. I was just wondering how all of you ladies decided to change your names (or plan to) when you got married.

    Wait for the poll!

In before the poll, lol...I just liked my middle name, and I knew I wanted to take DH's last name, so I dropped my maiden name instead of going with four names. (On some accounts that I had pre-marriage, though, I'm Mrs. First Middle Maiden Lastname).

I voted other. Only because, we have been married for over two years, and I have yet to change my name to the hyphenated version I wanted to. I recently started school full time, and will probably wait until after I graduate to change my name, if I ever do. For now, I have my last name and he has his.

(just to add, it doesn't make me any less proud because I didn't take my husband's last name. Just a little less traditional )

I took his last name. Didn't know you can change middle name. when i was growing up, hated that everyone in my house had different last names. I know sounds weird, but i like the fact that everyone in my house has the same last name.

"Made your middle and last both middle names and took his last" -- This is what I'm thinking. (I would hyphenate my middle and maiden name and of course have his last name as my OFFICIAL last name.) --This is so I have the choice of what "MIDDLE INITIAL" I want to use when signing my name,

If I decide later on to hell with it, then I would gladly just take his last name and drop mine, but I have a little while til I need to worry about this decision, I think
