Has anyone read the running man?

    Is it good?

I just read the hunger games, and at first I was nervous that it was going to be one of the those over-hyped books where the writing actually kind of sucks, but it was seriously amazing. Lots of reviews have said that if you liked The Running Man, you'd like The Hunger Games, or vice versa.

    Just looking for some opinions!

I loved The Running Game. Definitely worth the read. I also loved The Hunger Games.

I read it, but honestly I really hated it. The main character is just a complete and utter dick. I get that he's been through a lot and I suppose the audience is supposed to sympathize with him, but I just completely hated him. He's spiteful to people for no reason and just ugh. I hated him so much it was hard to get into the plot.

Also to me there seemed to be a strong undercurrent of misogyny through the book ... and I don't usually get upset with the way King writes.

I don't know. I just really didn't like it at all.

If you like the Hunger Games and want to read Stephen King, I would recommend The Long Walk instead. I think it's a MUCH better book and it still has a similar concept.

I've actually never read a single Stephen King book, so I have no idea if I'll like him or not. I'm sort of picky about books. Let me read about The Long Walk on amazon
