i have all of the house of night books. i liked them but they are very teenager-ish at some points. Not the whole the way they act, but the way the main character talks sometimes. I havent read vampire diaries yet.

I was thinking about reading the House of Night books because they are based in Tulsa, where I'm from.
From what I've heard, the author uses alot of landmarks that in Tulsa. I thought it might be fun to read. I would like to finish both of these series before DF gets home, so I need to get to reading! Also, next month another Sookie Stackhouse book comes out! YAY!!!

I have all of the house of night books and I love them
After I read the first one, I bought all of the other ones and I'll read one in about two days because I can't put it down ![]() They are pretty teenager-ish, I'll agree, but that's what I like about them. Plus, not many books actually make me laugh out loud but these ones have on more than one occassion! The sense of humor in them is so sarcastic and, well, teenager-ish!

well, i think the House of Night series is frustrating. I own them all. Going to buy the new one coming out. I also have Vampire Diaries and so far it's pretty good. I really enjoyed Vampire Academy.

I'm reading the vampire diaries right now. So far its pretty good. After reading some of it..Im starting to see a lot of twilight inspiration in there. I don't know if other people who have read it feel that way. Stephanie meyers says she dreamed of twilight..I call bull****. She may have dreamed about a teenage vampire, but I think she read this book and gathered ideas. She just put a new modern edge and twist into the story to make it her own and to capture the attention of todays teenagers and young adults. There are a lot of things in this book that are in twilight. For example: the fact that stefan only eats animals, he wanted to kill Elena because her smell is more alluring than others. He has an over whelming sense to protect her and he knows he loves her so he won't ever hurt her. He knows where she is all the time, he watches her. He can read minds, and he can glamour humans into doing whatever he wants them to do.He hates who he is and the fact that he is a monster. He drives a fancy car and wears the best clothes. The description of Stefan in the book from Elena isn't far off from Bella's description of Edward. (So beautiful he looks like a God etc). Don't get me wrong I love me some twilight saga and I can not wait for new moon in November. I'm just saying I think she definitely pulled in some idea's from the series and she didn't just make it all up on her own. She didn't invent vegetarian vampires, or teenage vampires with God like sex appeal that can read minds. lol. Although the stories are completely different with Vampire diaries having a more edgier darker side to it and a more complicated love story in my opinion, its definitely a good read. I like how it gives Stefan's thoughts too and not just Elena's where as us twilighter's have to wait and hope SM releases midnight sun someday.
