i am reading the first book in the series, dead until dark, and oh man it is so good! i watch the tv series too and of course i am loving the book more. the only thing is that tara isn't in the book yet and i'm in chapter five. i'm wondering if she was added to the show or if i just haven't gotten to her yet. lafayette is in there but not very much. lafayatte and tara are my favorite characters in the show.

Ooohh I want to read the books! But trying to find a good deal online for the box set.
 DH downloaded the first season and I am determined not to watch it until I read the first book! *Off to go search for the books! lol

i just finished the first book and tara wasn't in it at all and lafayette wasn't in it as much as he is in the show. so aside from those two things i like the book a lot better. i have netflixed the first season since i can't seem to find it online anywhere for free. will be starting the second book here pretty soon.

I finished ALL the books(well until the new one comes out
 )in less than 4 days. I was totally enamored! I started watching the series first but am SO glad I picked up the books. They are very different but it's fun to still be surprised when the series comes on. I can't WAIT for the next book to come out. You're going to absolutely keep falling in love with the books as you go.

alrighty i'm about to finish the second book and go pick up the third later this afternoon! the second book is completely different from the second season??? i mean yeah they went to dallas and they mention the attack on sookie from maryann but that is about the only thing, oh and the fellowship, but those are the only things that are the same. i was really upset in the beginning of the book about lafayatte
 season two had way more about maryann then book two. maybe book three is all about maryann. i guess i'll find out later today! oh and there is going to be a 10th book?

I wouldn't expect the books to be like the show at all, just so you dont get your hopes up. I only saw season 1 of TB but there are characters that have more of a role in the show than they do in the books. I liked the books much better so far, but I havent watched season two of TB yet.
I would just read them expecting them to be different than the show though, so you wont be disappointed. The books are awesome! |

I am on book seven and Maryann is never mentioned in the books as far as i remember... But I love the books i have two extra copys of the books if someone wants to buy them from me its book number 6 definitely dead and book 5 Dead as a doornail. Let me know :-D ill sell them for 4.00 obo i am not sure how much shipping would cost.. prob 1-2 dollars
