    Belly button pierced!

    Advertisements
I FINALLY got my belly button pierced yesterday and I love it, but my piercer didn't give me a care sheet. Just told me to wash it with antibacterial soap twice6a day and clean with Bactine at least 3 times a day. Other than that I got nothing. Anyone have any other tips/suggestions? I just want to make sure I take care of it right and it heals well.

i was always told not to use either of those things on fresh piercings...

all the ones ive gotten done recently they've recommended sea salt soaks ( a cup of hot water and a 1/4 tsp of sea salt) and saline spray ( i like H2Ocean) and just don't touch it.

Can you call and ask them? Do they have anything on their web site? I have zero piercings (not even my ears) but for all of my tattoos I've been told to use unscented, sensitive skin, antibacterial soap (such as Dial) and Eucerin lotion. But I have no idea if it's the same procedure as piercings. You may want to ask the professional....they should have really given you an aftercare sheet or instructions.

That's what I've been told too.

I don't remember if I had to move my belly ring though. I had that done like 15 years ago.

I'm trying so hard to remember what they said but it's been like 6 years. I think they had me just cleaning it with anti bacterial soap and putting salt water spray on it and I know they told me not to touch it, with ears you're supposed to spin them to not let them crust over but my mom kept yelling at me for touching my belly when they said not to.

Anti bacterial soap ruined my naval piercing. Idk if I was allergic to it or what but it got super infected. So gross.

I was told to move it uo and down whioe cleaning so it didn't crust and the saline. Never antibacterial soap Cause that can infect it.

Yeah after looking at Google and some other sites I'll stop the antibacterial soap and do the saline solution twice a day.

saline piercing wash is the best and to move it as you clean so the solution cleans everything. Other than that I wouldn't recommend moving it much more. I've only had cartilage piercings (industrials, helix, and nose). Every piercer has told me what everyone else is saying.
