    How much do you tip?

    Advertisements
I just got a tattoo and I realized after I left that I did the math wrong and tipped less than I planned. It came to just under 30%. I think I should send a card with a little more. I really love the tattoo and my artist. So, how much do you tip?

I usually tip 20-25% when I get a tattoo, so around 30% is more than generous IMO

He did a little more than we had planned but still charged me the original price so I feel like I should tip a little extra. I don't know. Maybe I'll just be extra generous next time. They charge based on size and he ended up adding some shading to pull it together more with work he had done before. So not a ton of extra work but a little. I'm still not used to the price difference between here and home so I feel like I robbed him

I usually do 20-25% too so I think what you did was more than good.

I usually tip $20. My last tattoo was $250 and I gave him $50. He thought that was really generous.

My most expensive tattoo was $200 and I gave him $20 because it only took an hour.

DH's tattoo cost $220 and he tipped $20 because it was pretty standard and no special drawing

Mine cost $450 and he had to specifically design mine & redrew a part of it... So I tipped $100
