    So itchy!!

What do you do to help with the itching after a new tattoo?

I'm exactly a week out and I don't really have much flaking anymore.... But it is so itchy! I just want to scratch my back but I've been good and just been patting my back.

Which... Has made me realize, the people at my work must be curious why I've been patting myself on the back lately

I was itchy from the dryness and Aquaphor really helped with that. Heat also seemed to do the trick… nothing too hot though because your skin is still so sensitive!

Ive had some artists recommend auquaphor, and another said just to make sure I wash it in the shower with antibacterial soap and use a non-scented lotion anytime it itched.

They didn't give you an aftercare lotion? I always got aftercare lotion with all of mine.

I know Aquaphor and A&D are popular choices, but I would try and get little tubes of them first to see if they help. I can't use either of them without having a reaction to them.

They did, but the Aquaphor tubes are all used up and so once the major flaking was done, I switched from Aquaphor to Aveeno lotion so I wouldn't mess up my work clothes from the ointment. But from the sounds of it, it sounds like I should switch back

I always used unscented Lubriderm. It worked well & didn't stick as badly to my clothes.
