    Removing piercing

    Advertisements
I have to remove my cartilage piercing(barbell) for my MRI tonight. I got it done back in December and I have yet to change it out. I am trying so hard to get it out, and neither ball is budging. I'm not sure WHICH ball is supposed to come off.

Any tricks I can use to loosen them? I tried using gloves to make my fingers not slip as much but it didn't work how I wanted it to. It's starting to get irritated because I'm messing with it so much.

likely both of the balls come off, so keep trying with either. take a soapy wet qtip and soak the ball around where it threads.
honestly though, i usually just end up going to a shop to get it undone any piercing shop should be happy to do it for you. save yourself the pain of pulling on it!

I was just going to suggest you go to a piercing shop, or have someone else try and do it for you. If its getting irritated, stop for a while, and then try again in a few hours.

for some reason changing my naval piercing, which I've had for over 10 yrs still makes me wanna so I always go have it done at a shop instead.
They probably won't charge, but I usually tip a few $

I'm gonna try a little bit more, and if it doesn't come off, I'm going to have to go have someone do it..because it NEEDS to come out.

Glad you got it! Hope it goes back in smoothly for you! I had issues with my tragus when i took my original earring out and could never get anything in there other than a regular sized earring Hope your MRI goes well!

I'd go to the shop to have it put back in, just to make sure you can't get it back in that easily you won't irritate it.

Once I got it loose, I put it back in, just didn't screw the ball back on insanely tight. I took it back out as I undressed for the MRI, and put it back in when I got back to the car. It was out for like an hour. No issues getting it back in, thank god. I was SO nervous of it closing up.

I think I might get a new piece of jewelry for it though.
