Help Memorial Tattoos/White Tattoos *update 17*

    Advertisements
I've always been the type of person who didn't want a tattoo because I just didn't think they were for me. My brother, on the other hand, LOVED them and I've been thinking I wanted to get a tattoo in memorial of him and my niece.

I don't want a huge one, I don't want a black one...I think I want a Celtic knot of some kind or a quote maybe? Where should I put it? Not sure on a lot, just toying with the idea

I'm pretty sure I want to do a white tattoo...anybody care to show pics of theirs? Memorial tattoos or white tattoos? I know a few of you have them!

Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions for a new person getting their first ink?

    TIA.

I think you will just know the design when you see it. Wait for that moment. When you do find "the" right piece, place it somewhere where you will be able to see it and truly appreciate it.

Agree with Crystal. Mine on my right shoulder blade is for my grandma, it where she always put her hand. You'll know when you see it. Just take your time.

I think white tattoos can be really lovely. The other day I saw a picture one, it was some flowers and vines across their back and it was very beautiful but also very subtle. I will see if I can find the picture for you!

I have a heart with my stepfathers nickname and dates on it...it isn't finished (I have it on the inside or my left ankle). For my brother I just got his name on my right forearm...everyone thinks it's an ex bf's name so I need to add something to it. just not sure what yet but I know tht I will know once I see it.

I guess the one I was thinking about was on someone's shoulder rather than their back:

I like this one too, I think a bird (not necessarily a sparrow) could be a really great memorial:

I'm not a fan of white, but I won't tell you why because you should get whatever you want

This is my SIL's in memory of her and DH's brother who was killed.

I like white tattoos depending on the design. However, many artists will discourage it because it fades quicker and doesn't "stick" like darker colors. I have two memorial tattoos for my son. I have his birth date in Roman numerals with his name surrounded my stars on my left forearm (I plan to sleeve it) and his footprints on top of my feet. I also incorporated "memorial" elements into my quarter sleeve. His birth month flower (and the other kids') and negative stars.
