    Help my first!

So I'm going to be getting my first tattoo this week, hopefully tomorrow. Its going to be on my hip. Any tattoo tips? If you have a tat on your hip did it hurt a lot?
    TIA

Only on my bone, the softer parts not as much.

Then again, I somewhat like the feel of getting a tattoo.

    Good luck!

I have one on my hip as well. It was a little tender when the guy was going over the bone, but even still it wasn't that bad. The sound of the needle freaked me out more than the actually tattooing. Just make sure you follow their aftercare instructions very carefully. People will tell you otherwise, and be all, "Oh you don't have to do that..." but I have to say that I always have and my tatts look awesome years later when some of those same people are getting their removed, covered up etc...

It's going to be very small, maybe 3 inches at the most. I have a horrible pain tolerance though. Thanks for the advice ladies.

11 tattoos later ...my only advice is eat before you go. haha Honestly I have both my hips done and no it didnt hurt but tattoos really dont hurt to me. It's a ...different ...kinda hurt! haha. It's hard to explain. But I dont think it's bad at all. The one thing I did notice though is that I get really light headed if I dont eat before hand.

My only advice, don't let them cover your tattoo with saran wrap. That is so bad for it. Make sure you keep it clean by washing it gently with plain soap and water, put bactine on it, and when it starts to peel, don't mess with it!

Keep it clean and follow the aftercare! I LOVED aquaphor for my 2nd tatt, it helped soothe my skin so much. Also resist the urge to itch has it heals, I know it can be hard.
