    Tattoos and breastfeeding.

What are the guidelines? Obviously I am not talking about a tattoo out of a van or a scary back alley.

    Lay it on me mamas!

I am pretty sure if they knew you were breastfeeding, they would turn you away. The reason they turn away preggos is because of the very slight risk you get an infection from your tattoo, the infection will travel to the baby. I would assume that with bf it's the same concept.

I think that some artist may be fine if you offer to breastfeed them, but most would prefer to be paid in US currency.

Sorry. Feeling a bit punchy this morning.

I'm thinking the same thing but it may not be the case.

I guess that just gives me a little more time to plan the perfect tattoo.

Different experts say different things, so it really just depends who you talk to. I'm getting another one as soon as I lose enough weight to be comfortable with it, regardless of how long that takes. Personal opinion I guess!

Most of my tattoos I got when I was breastfeeding. You have a higher chance of getting an infection by going to the dentist than you do getting a tattoo.

It's not something I ever really worried about. Two of my larger pieces I had done when I was breastfeeding. It was extensive work.

Both of the tattoos on my right foot were done when I was breastfeeding. Well, I wasn't nursing during the tattoo...lol.

The artist had no problem with it. I did my research and felt completely comfortable doing it.
