I am telling you, I am horrible at this blogging thing lol. I logged in today and decided to update my blog because I received this amazing email from another spouse who is going through some of the things I went through during a deployment a few years ago! It's crazy looking back on that time... Not even a full year after he got back from deployment, we got married and moved ALLLLL the way across the ocean to Aviano, Italy. Talk about change!! Now almost 3 years later we are less than 6 months away from PSC'ing to our next base.

Italy has been amazing but also such a culture shock and frustrating at times. For example, you can't wash and dry your clothes at the same time bc it will blow your power here so that adds about 3-4 hours to ONE load of laundry. Also, here in Italy, they go on a reposo every day for a few hours which essentially means everything is closed because it is their resting time. So it has been important that I schedule things out every day (which isn't always easy when you work a full time job). And let's not even talk about the language barrier. That was the hardest and most frustrating thing but I got used to it and in the end I will be talking a good bit of Italian language home with us back to the states lol.

It's amazing the little things we take for granted as Americans when your forced to adapt to another country/culture. But I wouldn't have changed it for the world. If I could turn back time, I would want to come to Italy all over again. I learned so many things, experienced over 10 amazing countries and ultimately had so much personal growth.

I don't know where we will be going next, but I welcome it with open arms... Until the next blog (hopefully it won't be another 3 years lol)
