    I think it is actually to vacuum seal the bottles once they are open, using special rubber seals.

    It won't open it, but it will reseal it! My ex had one.

    I hate really hi-tech wine openers! My sis had one that took us like 30 minutes to figure out how to use it one time. We were like "we just want our drink!"
