Margarita Assortment

Is my Sunday paper the best, or what? I love the way they feel compelled to inform us to "serve immediately." Well yeah, duh.

Lemon-Berry Margarita
Serves 2

Kosher salt for the glass (or margarita salt)
4 ounces tequila
2 ounces triple sec or other orange liqueur
juice of 2 lemons
2-1/2 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup fresh berries
2 cups ice cubes

Pour salt in shallow bowl or plate; set aside. In blender, combine tequila, triple sec, lemon juice and honey. Puree until frothy.

Overturn the serving glass and dip the rim in the blender to wet just the top 1/2 inch. Dip the now wet rim into the salt and twist until coated. Set aside.

Add the berries and ice to the blender. Puree until chunky smooth, then pour into prepared glass. Serve immediately.

Honeydew Melon Margarita
Serves 2

6 ounces tequila
4 tablsepoons honey
juice of 2 limes
2 cups cut honeydew melon
2 cups ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a plender, then puree until smooth. Serve immediately.

Orange-Pineapple Margarita
Serves 2

1 cup ineapple chunks
1 cup pineapple juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
juice of 2 limes
1/4 cup honey
6 ounces tequila
pinch salt
1-1/2 cups ice

In a blender, combine the pineapple chunks and juice, vanilla, orange juice concentrate, honey, tequila, salt and ice (jeez, why didn't they just say 'all ingredients?'). Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

Cranberry Slush Margarita
Serves 4

3/4 cup (6 ounces) tequila
3/4 cup (6 ounces) triple sec
1 cup (8 ounces) unsweetened cranberry juice (not cocktail)
1/2 cup honey
Pinch salt

Ice cubes

Dump the first 5 into a blender, and add enough ice to fill the blender two-tirds full. Blend until smooth. Serve imediately.

WHEN DID THAT LITTLE WEASEL GET TO VB??????

So ladies..... I'm thinking maybe we should do the VB wine tasting down on the beachfront the weekend of Sept 20th? If not, we can go to the wineries on Knotts Island.

ryry is thinking of coming to va beach, i wonder if she is there already?? wine tasting weekend sounds great. i will keep my calendar clear.
