So, I'm having a few friends over for dinner on my birthday and I want to make a good drink, but not one that will be too much alcohol. suggestions so far are sangria and hunch punch.
Any other suggestions? or How about some Sangria recipes?!?

How about daquiris (sp) you could always make some of those and you dont have to add too much alcohol to them.
One of my favorites are fuzzy navals and they're sweet and you cant really taste the alcohol too much in them.

ok..i got something for a gettogether recipe..like sangria but different...
1L bottle of sprite or 7up 500ml of orange juice 1cup of malibu or more..depending on you..(you can do it with any other alcohol) 2 cans of fruit cocktails... soak the fruits with the cocktails for an hour so that the fruits absorbs the alcohol and then make the drinks...mix them all togtther...they will enjoy it...

I watched this episode, and it looked really good! Also, I emailed my mom to get her recipe for sangria, it's really good! As soon as I get it, I'll post that as well..
Sangria Blanca Recipe courtesy Tyler Florence Show: Food Network Specials Episode: All-Star BBQ 2 bottles dry white, such as sauvignon blanc 1/2 cup Spanish sherry 1/2 cup orange-flavored liqueur (recommended: Cointreau) 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 bunch seedless white grapes 1 lemon, unpeeled and sliced 2 peaches, unpeeled, pitted, and sliced 1/2 honeydew, peeled, seeded, and diced 1/2 liter club soda Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Serve immediately, or if making in advance, refrigerate up to 24 hours, and then add the club soda just before serving. |

Ok, here's my mom's sangria recipe
3 tablespoons sugar 3 tablespoons spiced dark rum 3 tablespoons Cointreau or other orange liqueur 1 navel orange, sliced 1 lemon, sliced 2 ripe peaches, cut into wedges 3 ripe plums, cut into wedges 2 cinnamon sticks 1 bottle red rioja or other dry red wine sparkling soda water Combine sugar, rum, orange liqueur, fruits and cinnamon sticks in a large pitcher. Cover with 1 bottle of rioja wine and chill for several hours. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets. Pour the sangria and top off with a splash of soda water. |
