I never thought about getting renters as grandparents have homeowners. The house is a ranch house, the basement is finished off and that's where husband and I are. So I never really thought about getting renters as it's not like our address is 10B and theirs is 10A.

I had my rings insured through our renters insurance, it was only a few extra bucks a month.. I'm not sure if DH kept it once we switched from usaa though. I lost my engagement ring a few years back and was devastated, luckily my dad found it on the side of the road. I had it insured after just incase. It wouldn't replace my original, but I can't imagine having to buy a whole new set if anything happened whether they were stolen or lost.

I have jewelry insurance policy through USAA. I also have my renters and auto through them as well, so combined its a discount. But I have mine based on the $1000, and it's about $15/year per $1000.

I absolutely love my rings, no other rings can compare or replace them. That's exactly why I want to get them insured. I'm glad your ring was found!
