Too plain for a formal event?

Sorry if the picture is huge, I'm posting from my phone.
So the USMC ball is next month. I ordered a dress online, and am waiting for it to get here, but I figured I better get a back up incase it doesn't fit. I saw this at the store and DH loved it, but I'm afraid it's too plain for the ball. I really like it, I just don't want to be underdressed. What do you guys think?

Eta: There is pink fabric under the dress, so where the netting is you're seeing pink fabric, not skin.

I think it looks great and could be made more formal using jewelry, shoes and accessories.

No I like it! It's really flattering on you too. It is a little basic but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it just gives you more room to dress it up. I would do an updo with statement earrings and sandals like this, probably in a metallic. You can find those skinny strap sandals basically everywhere btw, those are just the first pair that come up in google search results.

I agree. If you do more formal hair (up), sparkley jewelry, and dressy shoes, it should be fine.

Thanks ladies! DH and I both loved it, and it fits perfectly. I'm so glad it's acceptable.

I think it looks fine, especially if you dress it up.

Though you will see all sorts of flashy dresses there, the key is that you compliment him, not outshine him. I think you look beautiful in this dress and it will be just right.

I don't think it's plain at all! It's very flattering on you!
